Celebrating the Life of LTC Michael (Mike) Greene

2nd Annual LTC Michael J. Greene Foundation Lacrosse Jamboree | May 30th, 2015 |

On February 10th, 2013, LTC Michael (Mike) Greene, age 43, a longtime resident of Mansfield, passed away after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer.

Mike was a dedicated family man; he could be found at his children’s sports practices and games on any given day.

Mike was a solider in the Mass National Guard and took his job seriously. In 2010, he was deployed to Afghanistan.

While on deployment to Afghanistan in 2010, his boys, Owen and Liam, took an interest in lacrosse. Mike, from the time of his return to his passing, loved being at every lacrosse practice and game. He would spend time on You Tube learning how to pass and perfect his skills so he could play with the boys. Even on his worst days during treatment, he would be at the fields with his kids watching and learning. He truly had a passion for the game and helping the boys improve.

Mike could be described as humble, intelligent, and determined, with an ability to relate to a wide range of people.

Mike is survived by 2 sons, Owen and Liam, and his wife Kate.

On May 30th, 2015, the LTC Michael Greene Foundation will host the 2nd Annual LTC Michael J. Greene Foundation Lacrosse Jamboree. Our goal is to bring lacrosse families from around the region together to celebrate Mike and raise money for local charities close to the hearts of the Greene Family which include the Joe Andruzzi Foundation and the Mansfield Lacrosse Wall Fund, among other local charities.

WHO:   Lacrosse Players (Boys) Ages 8 – 14

WHERE – Hutchinson Fields, Memorial Park, Mansfield, MA

WHEN – May 30th, 2015, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

COST– $300 PER TEAM

Divisions:

• Grades 3-4
• Grades 5-6 A/B
• Grades 7-8 A/B

A –Division : Select, Club, Etc.

B –Division : Town Teams

 

Tournament Information:

• 3 games per team guarantee
• 4^th game will be Championship Bracketing
• Entertainment
• Festival Atmosphere
